COMMUNITY PROJECTS

In Bini Club of Southern California, the projects that have immediate impacts in people's lives are our calling.

We recognize that a market is one of the most important economic and cultural centers of interactions in African Traditional Societies and we are deeply concerned about the plight of traders who generally are market women, who spend very long hours in the markets and suffer unavailability of clean regular water supply as well as restrooms thereby exposing them to ill health while they suffer with lack of dignity.

We believe that the provision of water will quench the thirst of the traders, improve the sanitary conditions of the markets and facilitate fire fighting measures.  We have chosen to manifest our aforesaid concern and commitment by donating altruistically and free of any stings, and all-expenses paid borehole water project to New Benin Market and other markets that qualfy for future projects in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. 

While we are proud to announce that the New Benin Water Borehole is still running and remains well maintained, thanks to our sponsors and contributors, project 2008 is about to commence.

Project 2008 

The wonderful members of Bini Club of Southern california, with help from our sponsors, are committed to prioritizing and executiing projects that have immediate impacts in people's lives.  We are again, in the process of setting up an exploratory committe, to identify and recommend canditate projects for inclusion in the list of projects, that will be selected for project 2008.

In addition to possibly executing another borehole water project, we are also doing a feasibility study to construct a community center in Southern California to meet the ever growing needs of children and the aged.
